In India GROUPS are the competitive level - Job oriented
examinations conducted by Respective STATE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSIONS in
behalf of Respective State GOVERNMENTS.
In Telangana GROUPS are conducted by TELANGANA STATE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION in behalf of TELANGANA GOVERNMENT.
Groups are broadly classified into Four (4) types namely : Group I , II , III , IV respectively.

Group I :
This exam is conducted for the required government posts as Supreme executive powers with very high decision making powers.
Eg : IAS, IPS, State Govt Services(RDO), Magistrate etc..,
Eligibility : Any Bachelor Degree (Passed).
Group II :
This exam is conducted for the required government posts as Mandal level authorities who follow the instructions of Supreme Executive Authorities.
Eg : Tashildar's, Lecturers in Govt. College's, Junior doctors etc..,
Eligibility : Any Bachelor Degree (Passed).
Group III :
This exam is conducted for the required government posts as Semi-skilled with almost no or Little decision making authority.
Eg : Clerk , Typist, Income tax Inspector, Tax assistant etc..,
Eligibility : Any Bachelor Degree (Passed).
Group IV :
This exam is conducted for the required government posts as manual workers.
Eg : Peon, Driver etc..,
Eligibility : Any Metric Degree (Passed).
State Public Service Commission conducts exam for all Groups-I,II,III,IV , but UPSC conducts exam for Group I and II Respectively.The scheme of the exams differ from one another.
